The AF1, an icon since its 1982 debut, celebrates its 40th anniversary as one of the most successful sneakers in history. For LV Spring-Summer 2022 Men’s runway show, Virgil Abloh collaborated with N1ke to create 47 bespoke pairs, blending the classic AF1 design with LV signature materials and insignia as a tribute to the hip-hop culture that influenced him.
Crafted in LV’s Fiesso d’Artico shoe atelier in Italy, these sneakers featured materials from Abloh’s Louis Vuitton men’s collections and his signature use of quotation marks, reflecting the graphic elements central to his work.
